Field Programmable Gate Array Engineer (FPGA) Job Description:

The Field Programmable Gate Array Engineer (FPGA) is responsible for designing, testing, and implementing digital circuits using FPGA technology. In this role you will work on creating custom logic designs, developing hardware descriptions, and testing and debugging designs. FPGAs are integrated circuits that can be reconfigured after manufacturing to meet specific use case requirements. This reconfigurability allows for updates, bug fixes, or feature additions without replacing the entire hardware.

Primary Qualifications:

  • Developing and implementing digital circuits using FPGA technology
  • Developing hardware descriptions using programming languages such as VHDL and Verilog
  • Testing and debugging designs to ensure they meet requirements
  • Collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure designs meet project goals
  • Staying up to date with the latest developments in FPGA technology and incorporating them into designs

Must Have Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of digital logic design and computer architecture
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as VHDL and Verilog
  • Experience with hardware description languages (HDL)
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to stay up to date with the latest developments in FPGA technology
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
