Structural Dynamics/Stress Engineer Job Description:
Talon Analytics is hiring a Structural Dynamics/Stress Engineer to join our Vehicle Engineering team of qualified, diverse individuals in SoCal, however will primarily be working remotely from Tucson, full-time for 6 months. Some travel is required. The Structural Dynamics/Stress Engineer will support investigations of technical documentation, conduct of analysis, and develop and review of engineering artefacts. In this role you will periodically assess engineering data to validate systems and processes, assess in-service data against platform certification and risk assumptions, and assess the implications of in-service data on platform management.
Primary Qualifications:
- Experience monitoring the ASI sub-program, and proactively identify deficiencies or changes.
- Ability to review engineering artefacts, as required, within the scope of delegated Engineering Authorization.
- Experience with Siemens NX/Unigraphics or similar CAD software
- Experience with stress-life fatigue analysis
- Experience with analysis of bolted joints
- Knowledge to analyze and evaluate the structural integrity and performance of aerospace components and systems.
- Ability to work closely with design engineers to ensure that products meet all necessary requirements and standards.
- Stay updated with industry standards and best practices related to stress analysis in aerospace engineering
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to assess structural integrity and fluid behavior.
- Experience in one or more computer programming languages (e.g. MATLAB, Python, Fortran). Experience with Fortran is a plus
- Experience with structural analysis workflow optimization
- Experience in the use of typical Microsoft Office programs
Must Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer within the aviation industry
- Proven experience as a Stress Engineer, with expertise in both fluids and structures analysis.
- Strong knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to stress analysis in aerospace engineering.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Working knowledge of Aircraft sustainment, configuration management, and certification
- Working knowledge of Defence or Civil Aviation Regulations
- Hold or be Eligible to hold a Defence clearance
- Experience with 2D and/or 3D modeling software
- Experience writing technical reports
